LLM LPC Graduate

Updated: Mar 16, 2021

I studied the LPC part time whilst working full time and although this was a tough and busy period, it is now complete and on the “done” list!

I really enjoyed the LPC. I studied it at University of law, Bloomsbury. Although the compulsory modules were difficult, there was support and tips from the tutors. We also had mock exams during the beginning of the course so earlier on.

For my electives I studied Commercial Law, Intellectual property law, Advanced real estate and Immigration law. I completed my LLM in Real Estate Law.

Tips for managing:

• Concentrate on the workshop tasks – these will guide your understanding for the exams

• Dont focus too much on the text book reading – there is so much in there and sometimes its unnecessary. Be selective and dont be afraid to ask for help if you don’t understand something.

• Stay organised! Your notes will save your life before the exams haha – these should consist of both your understanding/reading notes and notes for the exams

• Practice exam style questions – as much as the LPC is meant to be practical and close to what you will do in practice, it does come down to actually passing the exam and this will come from practicing in exam conditions since timing is usually tight!

It’s good to reflect every now and then so if you feel like you want to change something or do something differently, now is your chance to reflect and make those changes!
