LLB Graduation reflection

Updated: Mar 16, 2021

Hi there! It’s been a while since I blogged so I thought I would update and try setting out my journey as I continue to work within the legal sector.

I am an LPC LLM Graduate. I completed my LLB Law Degree at City Law School.

I undertook the following modules:

Contract Law, Criminal Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, English Legal Systems, Land Law, Tort Law, Equity & Trusts, EU Law, Criminal Law.

I chose the following elective modules:

Intellectual Property Law, Immigration Law, Company Law, Family Law, Contract Law, Commercial Property Law, Commercial & Agency Law.

I really enjoyed all of my modules – I chose these based on my areas of interest but also what would be good, transferable knowledge in the future.

My tips for surviving undergraduate law degree would be:

  1. Make use of the library – all universities have a good library and usually a good selection of books – choose the book that makes sense to you but also the essential reading book at your uni.

  2. Essential reading – this sets a good foundation for your understanding and allows you to make notes for exams. This way you will make most use of your seminars/tutorials.

  3. Attending and participating in seminars/tutorials – these classes are to test your knowledge and ask any questions to your tutors. Make most use of this time to ensure you understand the topic before moving on.

  4. Past papers – test your knowledge in a practical way by practicing past papers provided by your university. This prepares you for your exams and shows the areas you need improvement in.

  5. Lastly, enjoy the experience! University is meant to be enjoyable – engage in societies and attend events. If you manage your time well, you will be able to attend your classes, prepare for them but also have some time off to ensure a balanced schedule!

These are just my tips – let me know how you are surviving 🙂
